das Kunst Taxi // the art cab

yuhuu! die kolleginnen spingler und kopp haben u.a. meine wenigkeit eingeladen, einige drucke für ihr kunst taxi projekt zur verfügung zu stellen. vom 02. bis 08. März 2010 findet ihr das kunsttaxi auf der UND#5 in der Nancyhalle in Karlsruhe. hingehen!!

schnee von gestern // yesterdays snow

kennt ihr das: obwohl heut zum ersten mal seit tagen wieder so richtig schön die sonne scheint, ist's im kopf drin stark bewölkt?! all der schöne schnee hat wohl kurzzeitig mein gemüt vereist, keine schlechte laune, aber großes dumpfes denkgefühl. ich sitze am schreibtisch und hab zeit zum arbeiten, will bilder aussuchen für eine kleine ausstellung, wühle mich durch alten kram, finde nix, gefällt mir nicht oder gefällt mir so, daß ich es nicht hergeben will. neue bilder machen wäre auch sehr schön, aber wie und wo anfangen. ach. ich wünschte ich hätte wieder ein schönes groooßes atelier mit tür zu!

even though today is the first nice and sunny day in weeks, inside my head it's very cloudy. maybe all that snow has iced my brain shortwhilst, i am sitting on my desk with time to work, looking for works that i can send in for a little show, not finding anything i like or liking it so much i don't want to give it away. it would be nice making new works, too, but where to start and how? oh, i wish i had a nice and spacy studio again, with the door closed!

wieder am schnitzen // cutting again

wochenende!! für mich bedeutet das : arbeiten. die lahme schulter lockern und los gehts. ein neuer auftrag muss fertig werden und es ist gar nicht so einfach, die konzentration immer auf punkt abrufbar zu haben. aber da ende märz schon abgabe ist, muss ich mich ganz schön ranhalten. ein tolles neues projekt: anlässlich der wm2010 in südafrika wurden 11 deutsche und 11 südafrikanische künstler eingeladen, eine edition zum thema "identity and otherness" zu erstellen, die es dann als sammel-kunstmappe zu einem guten zweck zu erwerben gibt. damit soll die arbeit von release e.v. in stuttgart und die khomanani primary school in soweto unterstützt werden. je eine ausstellung in johannesburg und stuttgart wird es auch noch geben und ich fühle mich sehrSEHR geehrt, dabei sein zu dürfen. macht riesig spass mal wieder eine größere arbeit zu konzipieren. mehr dazu zu gegebener zeit, jetzt muss erstmal druckplatte 2 und 3 geschnitzt werden. happy weekend!!

weekend!! this means working days for me. i have a new comission work to do and as i only have time to work on weekends, i really have to pull this one off with lots of concentration and energy. on the occasion of the soccer world cup 2010 in south africa, 11 german and 11 south african artists were invited to submit an art edition for the project "identity and otherness". this will result in an art portfolio which will be sold in order to support the work of release e.v. in stuttgart and the khomanani primary school in soweto. there will also be exhibitions in johannesburg and stuttgart. i feel so honored to be a part! more about this later on, now i'm off to cut block 2 and 3. happy weekend!

kleine vögel // little birds

..halten mich derzeit auf trab! mit dem ersteren, dem kleinen stempel, habe ich neue sachen für die happy häckers bedruckt und das zweite kleine vögelchen lernt fleissig fliegen in unseren kleinen hütte. es ist verrückt, mir kommt es vor, als wäre es erst gestern geschlüpft und heute will es schon raus aus dem nest und die ganze welt erobern. dafür müsste sie allerdings nicht schon um halb fünf aufstehen...seufz! jeder tag ein verlockendes abenteuer - und ein wunder ;)
jedenfalls, ich habe das ganze wochenende an einem neuen druck gearbeitet und bin seither recht schlapp und uninspiriert, dabei stapelt sich die arbeit in allen ecken. vielleicht liegt es ja am neuschnee... ;)

..keep me busy these days! with the first one, the little stamp, i made new pretty things for the happy häckers, and the other little birdie is learning how to fly in our little home. it's so crazy, it feels like yesterday when she hatched and today she already wants to leave the nest and conquer the world! well, she don't necessarily need to get up at 4.30 in the morning for this...sigh! each day a great adventure - and a wonder, too ;)
anyway, me, i worked the whole weekend on a new blockprint and feel quiet exhausted and uninspired since then. even though work is piling up in every corner of the house. maybe because of the fresh snow.. ;)

für emil // to emil

emil ist heute schon 4 wochen alt!! herzlichen glückwunsch, emil! letzte woche haben wir ihn und seine eltern in heidelberg besucht und ein paar hübsche gaben haben wir auch mitgebracht, quasi ein erstes promo paket von den °*happy häckers*° .... ( über die ihr gaaanz bald mehr erfahren werdet ;)
